So I have totally flaked out on this blog over the last month and have been busy with all sorts of other music projects. I'll be honest, I am a musician first, writer second... but I'm back now with the intention of not posting as often, and possibly getting another writer, but still bringing you guys lots of good tunes. I don't know how many regular followers I actually have, but to those of you who enjoy the articles I post up... my apologies for bailing the last couple weeks!
anyways, onto the good stuff...
Ever since Skream's "Outside The Box" was released last year, tracks off the album have constantly been finding ways onto my everyday playlists. A couple pieces in particular have such unique sounds that I know they won't be getting old anytime soon. Sam Frank's haunting vocals combined with a perfect choice of chord changes in "Where You Should Be" allow me to say with confidence that this track makes my top 20 of all time. "How Real" is up there too... but considering the amount of music I listen to, my top 20 is quite a serious list to crack!
I don't love Skream for churning out constant bangers like some of the big dubstep producers these days. I simply just love that he does his own thing. This album in particular got my attention. I would call Skream a dubstep producer, but don't think I could feel right calling this a dubstep album. I don't know what I would label it as, and wouldn't care to try!
Beginning with my two front runner favorites...
